Full bodied, rich and smooth with a higher bitterness for balance. Bursting with malty, biscuity and fruitcake character from the blend of pale, amber and crystal malts. Masses of tropical fruit and floral aroma from the hops, particularly the fragrant, floral and spicy fuggles. Very complex, rich and warming.
Aroma: Ripe fruit and fruitcake
Taste: Full bodied, fruitcake and caramel
In Bury St. Edmunds, the home of Abbot Ale, brewing dates back 1000 years. In fact, the Domesday Book records ‘cerevisiari’ or ‘beer brewers’ who served the abbot in the town’s great abbey.
Inheriting their fascinating experience, our brewing process has remained virtually unchanged for hundreds of years. It takes seven days to make the perfect pint of Abbot Ale.
